What struck me first on readin this book was the fact that somehow it did not seem worthy of Bram Stoker's previous literary success. true the tale is wonderous, intensive, reserached and strange but yet, it lacks the throughness and well knit language one finds in Dracula. At times the language slacks and fails to call to mind the horror that would give it its full due. LIKES this bookThe plot is interesting however, on reading it one would not conciously assocaite it with the author who penned Dracuala though yes, the role of a woman as a support and messenger of God as well as a being to be nurtured and protected is still found in excetution.
