The story of Edmonds Dantes, self-styled count of Monte Cristo, is told with consummate skills.

The most exciting book I read when I was 18.

Fascinating to read - couldn't put it down. The devevelopement of the main character involved the lives of others so well and their demise was worth reading on into the depths of the novel.

my all time favorite novel

This book quickly has become my second favorite book. (Number one is the Bible.) Dumas takes his characters and breathes life into them especially Edmonds Dantes. Edmonds begins as a man completely in love with his beautiful fiance' whom he is to marry that evening. He is innocent of doing or thinking evil, but plenty of evil will be his within hours. A great book; I highly recommend it. it.
