I found this to be a fun story in the style of the space operas of E.E.Smith with characterisation by Heinlein. The only thing I disliked is that the ending was a little too sudden perhaps. LIKES this bookThere is a distinct feeling that Heinlein's 'Number of the Beast' characters have successfully applied for the lead roles, with D.T. staring as Simla and Sharpie playing Elfi; that leaves Jake appearing as the Great Father and Zeb as our hero, Yaf, both of whom fit quite well. Our stolid automaton Shap, fortunately, is not like Gay Deceiver.
All in all a darn good read, if a bit short. Definitely going to sample some of this author's other works.
