Author: Jules Verne

Book Description HTML  |   Report this book

The story begins with strange lights and sounds reported in the skies over Europe. The events are capped by the mysterious appearance of a black flag atop the Eiffel Tower. These events are all the work of the mysterious Robur, a brilliant inventor who intrudes on a meeting of a flight-enthusiast's club called the Weldon Institute.

Keith

A fairly ordinary example of Verne's work - hard to believe that the main characters could just be so obnoxious - perhaps written to try to give a moral story about oppression but it detracted from the 'adventure' element.
