Options is O. Henry's sixth short story collection. The stories typical Henry, are masterfully put together, but lack any unifying themes.
An fun collection of stories. As usual, Henry manages to surprise us in some places, but in others he just captures likable, down-to-earth human characters in a refreshing and entertaining manner. "The Third Ingredient" -- 'cute' but also very amusing -- is the best short story I've read for a long time. Hetty reminds one a little of Marilla Cuthbert in Anne of Green Gables, but is drawn more sympathetically.
