An elderly rancher in New Mexico, now retired, finds an object in the desert that alters his life in ways that he could not have imagined. What at first appears to be a blessing, he discovers can also be a curse. He soon discovers that there are people that would gladly kill to obtain what he found. He now finds himself fleeing all he knows and loves to protect not only his life, but also the lives of the ones he loves. This is a sci-fi story, but also a thriller and a love story.

I really enjoyed the plot and the main characters. The science fiction angle was handled well: people behaved realistically in response to the unrealistic twist, giving the story the realism it needed. There was a little too much development of some side characters, which distracted from the overall plot. Also, the author is in dire need of a proofreader. There are too many apostrophe, their/they're, to/too, etc. issues. Even one I-10/I-40 issue that sort of poked me in the eye.

excellent story, well written * enjoyed the read immensely *

A good story with plenty of scope for a follow up.I hope the author is thinking on this as well.

A good read. A somewhat convoluted storyline. A little more attention to editing (spelling etc.) would not have gone amiss.

Jim Verdugo

Started out great, but soon bogged down in bad kids and prison badness. Sad, it could have been great

Tom Sherback

Great book, great story. A really good read. I had a hard time putting it down.

Will Parks
