By now, we have established that it is imperative for the success of your work that you need
to portray your work on the correct website, and ensure that the website is as ambitious as
you are.
However, in the same way, the publishing websites also scrutinize your work carefully before
they sign a contract with you to host your eBook.
In this chapter, we will closely look at the few
things that publishers look for in your work.
Making sure that we can satisfy our publishing
website is very important, because if the publisher
feels that your work is good enough, they will not
only end up paying over the top for your book
(which means you get more financial
remuneration per copy sold), but the publisher will also market your book better.
This is only natural, because we see that the publisher is going to stock on a product of three
categories. The first category will comprise of the “below average content.” Publishers will
buy this content just because there is a slight chance that someone might find the need to
purchase it. Hence, its purchase will be on nominal rates.
The second category through which publishers acquire their product is the “average
category.” This consists of the work that they believe is going to get them an acceptable
