Flipside is the first of a three-part series that goes hand in hand with The Songs from Long Road. It ties in with the Hopi legend of Pahana and the Mayan date of 2012. This first novel is about a man who broadens his perception through his dreams. Join Credit Lews as he explores a second side of awareness, manifested by the new world of Tunu. You will marvel at his adventures at Medusal Canyon, the Historical Site, Qattarah, and other places of note; and wonder at the people he meets--the Indian woman he is afraid to set his gaze upon, and the men from Qattarah. As he begins to lose himself in this amazing new world, his son and one of his best friends are kidnapped by drug smugglers along the Mexican border, and Credit is brutally reminded about his reality. I've read both Flipsides and the first one was better. I enjoyed the landscapes and the way the narrative skipped about. I thought the end of the second book was a bit contrived though.
