Kevin Slater was born in Liverpool UK in 1966.
He was put in and out of foster and care homes most of his childhood. Kevin has survived but others have sadly failed. Read his true story.
I like the book, story is heartbreaking and simply put. I would recommend getting together with an editor who can arrange your thoughts better, without being repetitive. Otherwise, I praise your courage and strength for coming forth with your story. I recommend this read to anyone who comes upon it.
I really loved the book, and agree with Kevin in writing it. How sad story and all he and sisters went through. An empty childhood, longing for his mum's love, hugs, care, etc., I cried reading page 122. It reminds me of an orphanage I worked for 9 years as assistant, the main office was maybe 18 miles from the home, it sheltered young girls who have been abused sexually, psychologically, verbally, and physically. Most often abuse comes from close relatives, drunken stepfathers or mums, drug addicts. They are there as from age three and over. All this really breaks my heart. But there is only somebody that can clear all the pain. GOD/JESUSCHRIST. I think the message is what really gets to our soul.
Cant believe some people are slating the authour on his punctuation ..oh please this man opens his life up to you an thats youre only response
i really enjoyed the book opened my eyes to the wider spectrum of the care system
This book is very poorly written. The author skips around and repeats himself so much that it's hard to really get into the story and relate to the characters.
Please get with someone to get your book arranged better. The story was interesting, but hard to keep with as it jumps around a bit. Some things were told before without a link from the story. Then the link would show up later. The story wanders a bit, and repeats a bit. It is quite interesting tho. It might sell in the regular press if you can get it edited and sent round to some publishers.
