This book is wonderfully entertaining and would be a treat for any young girl to read. The character of Rose provides a good, moral role-model while retaining the believable humanity of normal childhood. The book is brilliantly written, and the author shows throughout it a wonderfully sensitive insight into the heart and soul of a child.
