Im going to europe next year and when i started reading this story im more eager now that ever the story is fantasticly written and a great laugh at times some sorry for sure but more than that its going to be a great reference for me for places to visit and see LIKES this bookthe advantage i have is im going on a motorcycle and will be doing the trip alone so even the bad times should be pretty good

This is a pleasant enough book, especially if you have had the privilege to travel through France and Italy yourself. The stories, or rahter the adventures of the author and his family are very funny, it almost makes the actual travel descriptions unnecessary and sometimes even annoying. Quite a good read initially, but soon the complaining takes over. Booking cheap accommodation, you should not be surprised if it is below standard. And the picknicking takes away so many opportunities to eating in the abundant low-cost but excellent restaurants you find everywhere.
