Tsahai Thomas, your objection is with the biblical doctrine of the Holy Trinity. There are many Scriptures that prove that there is one God who exists as three separate, eternal, divine, and equal persons. It was Jesus Himself who in His Great Commission commanded us to baptize in the “name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.” (Matt. 28:19) This verse not only confirms the Trinity, but it clearly shows how people should be baptized. Although it is mentioned a few times in Acts that baptisms were done in the name of Jesus, as Christians our sole duty is to obey His commandments to us. Your argument is flawed because its starts on a basis that all Christians accepts the Trinity. I believe that first and foremost there is but ONE God and his name is Jesus. The Bible tells us that God was manifest in the flesh as Jesus. Not two separate beings but one. I and my father are one. I am come in my father's name. Thus when the commandment was given to be baptised in the name of the Father...if Jesus came in his father's name, then the name of the father must be Jesus as well (simple logics really). And God is a Spirit, so the Holy Spirit and God are not two separate beings. In him (Jesus) dwelleth the fullness of the Godhead bodily.
