The book is about a small town lawyer who runs for the Washington State Senate as a libertarian candidate. He is elected into a body evenly divided by Republicans and Democrats. He becomes the tie-breaking vote on every major piece of legislation. This book is about one man who gets his very independent foot in the door of a very intense political arena.

As a libertarian living in a small coastal community in Oregon, this book really spoke to me. I could not put it down. I appreciated the realistic approach the author took in picturing how a libertarian agenda by a newly elected state senator would have to be initiated in small steps. The book will have limited readership appeal, but I think the writer did a great job with it. The drama was intense for me but understated and very plausible. Thanks to E.R. Jones for writing this and making it available to us.

Nice book...I suppose lots of characterizations, inside...quite too many.
Fun, in this days of Political Changing.

A Foot in the Door was am excellent read. The way the Author got a Libertarian elected was believable and his main characters were colorful. Richard J, please give us more.
